The cultural circle 'Friends of Loggia' was founded so that those who sit at these tables over a coffee, or who lunch in the Spadolini or the Ricasoli Room, may realise that they are taking part in history - in another time, but in the very same place. .

The Ricasoli and the Poggi Room take us back to the time when Florence was the capital of Italy, while the Spadolini Room recalls the personality and the work of the great Florentine statesman Giovanni Spadolini (1925-1994), who was a faithful customer of ours..

Many of our cultural events are put on in collaboration with his Foundation, the Spadolini Nuova Antologia, which not far away from here (via Pian dei Giullari 36) preserves an extraordinary collection of books and pictures, as well as a collection of Napoleonic and Risorgimento memorabilia, that may be visited on request.

Various events organised by the Friends of La Loggia confer additional importance to the historic building: art exhibitions, Florence-related book launches, meetings and debates with eminent personages - all with the common objective of promoting the image of Florence and Tuscany to the world at large.
